Did you buy something at one of central Indiana’s festivals or fairs this summer and wish it was available all year round? Those handcrafted decorative items, unique jewelry pieces, Americana art or delicious treats available at outdoor markets are usually available only during the warmer months. Many of the local vendors of these products do not have permanent shops and their sales lag in the winter.
We believe the solution for both the consumer and the vendor is our new venture called the Hamilton County Marketplace. Once a month during the six colder months, we are offering the public the opportunity to purchase all the fabulous products normally sold at summer and fall festivals, art shows and farmers markets. Starting January 2, 2010, the marketplace will have 71 booths in the Hamilton County 4-H Exhibition Hall. From Jan-April and Nov-December, the heated, spacious facility will be filled one Saturday a month with select vendors offering the same quality products sold outdoors.
Hamilton County Marketplace is the brainchild of Brad Cook and Jeff Zeckel of Noblesville, and Susan Brooks of Atlanta. We, the show founders and promoters, saw the need for a cold weather shopping venue and formed the Hamilton County Marketplace. Our goal is to provide the unique shopping experience of an indoor festival market featuring the best and affordable products from local and regional quality vendors.
In an effort to benefit our community further, six different Hamilton County not-for-profit organizations will be collecting a $1 admission fee for each show and keeping 100% of the proceeds.
Please support our local artisans and craftsmen, along with our local not-for-profit organizations, by making Hamilton County Marketplace one of your regular shopping destinations this coming year.
